"We'll get you some Candy"

Hello! This is one shoot I am quite proud of! It was my first lifestyle newborn shoot, even though technically the baby here is a month old. She was still pretty sleepy and really well behaved for us.
I was so excited to give this shoot a try. I've seen many picture ideas for these types of shoots recently, it is really in style to do a photo session like this and I couldn't wait to have a crack at it. Especially with the same wonderful family and great lighting!
I have also finished my first photography course and was anxious to put my newly found skills to use, which I think really paid off here. I was able to coordinate all my camera settings to the setting of the room, and added a little bit of my speedlite flash for a little more highlight in some areas.
It was fun, light, peaceful. Occasionally, because we are dealing with kids (and sometimes a husband who doesn't like photos), we had to promise some candy to be given out if everyone cooperated and smiled. This is to be expected. However, this was one of my favorite and best photo shoots.
Everything came together seamlessly and I was elated with the shots being produced! I couldn't wait to get home and view them, edit them, and show them to the family!! Luckily there was not much editing that had to be done to this beautiful family. I really appreciated using my new lens. And I appreciated this family letting me into their home in such an intimate space and taking over, having them smile for about an hour.
Look at the gallery below to see what I'm talking about. I hope every photo shoot from here on out goes the same way! It was such a confidence booster and I'm ready to just get out there and snap away all the time!! I'm constantly looking for someone or a group of people to photograph, so if you would like to take part in that, contact me!
And C'Mon look at those dog pictures! She clearly loves the kids and the kids love her! Adorable! I was so impressed with how well she behaved with a little baby resting on her, we were sure to be safe with those shots.
Thanks for checking in, stay tuned for more and have a wonderful week. Blessings!
