Meagan and Erik

Right before Meagan and Erik's wedding day it rained cats and dogs! Huge storm that even called for flash flooding in some areas--this made me quite nervous for their day and our ability to get photographs outside. However, prayers were answered and come the morning of July 29, 2017, it was a perfect day--blue sky, 70 degree weather, and sunshine! It was amazing and much welcomed.

I arrived at the quaint United Methodist Church in Cherry Tree and awaited the bride and her bridesmaids. Meagan was surrounded by friends and family as she prepared for that walk down the aisle and looked as excited as could be, while still hoping the men show up on time and everything falls in place for the ceremony. The women dawned their gowns and helped each other with dresses, hair, and shoes. Erik prepared in the back of the church with his groomsmen and anxiously looked at the clock until showtime. Among all the chaos of final preparations, the moment had arrived.

I remember being all prepped and ready to snap Meagan and her dad walk down the aisle. It took a while for her to arrive into the church sanctuary, and when she did, eyes were teary--you could see the emotion all over her face and how much this moment meant to her as she paused with her dad at the end of the church to take it all in.

It was a beautiful ceremony. The new Mr. and Mrs. Erik Witenski was officially announced.

They greeted all in attendance with bubbles outside, hugs and smiles everywhere!

The bridal party hopped in to fire trucks that were there waiting for them, as Meagan and Erik are both volunteer firefighters. Thank you for your service. This has now been my second wedding featuring the fun addition of the fire trucks--riding in style and a cool way to arrive to the party. We also snapped plenty of pictures by them at the portrait location.

The location was a small farm property owned by Erik's family. There was a lovely barn there, lots of field, and even a horse to greet us. She made for quite the photo-bomber. Another fun thing was seeing the photos being taken overhead by the drone groomsmen Nathan had with him. I saw myself taking photos of the couple. It followed us around the farm area like a huge buzzing bee. Those things are quite neat. We had a fun time snapping some photos of the bride and groom and the wedding party, enjoying the perfect weather we were having. Then it was PARTY time!!

The reception was like a big family and friend reunion, a laid-back time to dance and celebrate with each other. Food was provided by family members, and was delicious! The toasts were spoken, with a lot of heart and laughter. And then everyone got to dancin'. The groomsmen were often times the life of the party getting wild and crazy and jumping in the air. The entire time I saw nothing but smiles on everyone's faces and fun being shared among friends. They were two separate parties who came together to celebrate. They like to have a good time. Even Meagan and Erik pulled some pranks as they smeared their wedding cake and Meagan's brothers and other groomsmen, which then became a free-for all wedding cake fight. Erik's mom was a victim as well. The happy couple danced together the whole time, and had to share many kisses due to the requests of the pounding fists' of their guests as they chanted "kiss, kiss, kiss". They looked very much in love and very happy. The room was filled with joy from young to old and it was a fun night to capture.

Thank you Meagan and Erik for letting me capture your special day. Congratulations to the new Witenski's, many years of blessings ahead of you!
