On an Adventure

This was an engagement shoot with Makenzie and Chris. We ventured out into the wilderness on about an hour drive on a Tuesday night.

We were heading for Buttermilk Falls, a place I had never been to--they had picked the location and I was excited to see this new place. We laughed when we had arrived at a destination, because it was not Buttermilk Falls like we had thought. We ended up at the wrong location--I'm not even sure what the name of this place was, but what a happy accident!! This location is somewhere in Indiana County off Route 422 and is a beautiful spot! There is a walking trail with benches and bridges hidden under large trees, a rope swing, huge rocks to climb on, and a flowing river (in which other visitors at the time were preparing to float down in inter tubes).

It was a hot and humid shoot, but a good one. Makenzie and Chris shared how much they have gone through together and through that I could see how much they mean to each other--by celebrating their engagement they are ready to go through a lot more by each other's side! They were good fun and had quite the adventurous spirit. This couple was willing to travel in any spot in this location, climbing up and down rocks and standing right next to the water to capture beautiful photos! We had walked around the area quite a bit scouting shooting spots and exploring the area. The location worked out perfectly.

Makenzie and Chris were wonderful to work with--I am honored that they chose me to photograph the special occasion and appreciate how grateful and kind they were to me (even allowing me to ride with them, as to avoid getting lost on the way). We even split a Kit Kat bar on the way home, my favorite. Wooden crates and letters were provided by them, I love that they were being creative and brought their own specific props they wanted in the shoot. I wish you two all of the best and a lifetime of blessings!
